Rejuvenate Yourself with Blissful Ayurvedic Massage at Kerala

Being a fitness freak I have always had an inclination towards Ayurveda. And

undoubtedly Kerala, God’s own country, is the best bet for people interested in pampering body and mind. So I thought of spending blissful time by the sea while enjoying Ayurvedic massage. Well, the very thought pushed my adrenalin level into high gear. With ‘great expectations’ in my heart, I flew down to Kerala for refreshing and rejuvenating holidays.

I was booked in Travancore Heritage resort in Kovalam, which is located

at a close distance from the mesmerizing Kovalam beaches. I wake up early morning as I did not want to miss the pristine beauty of the sun climbing up the sky and the scenic beauty of the beach. Kovalam is famous for its three beaches – the Light House beach, Hawa beach and Samudra beach. I had planned to visit all the three beaches and my first spot was the Lighthouse beach. The views of swirling palm trees, indomitable sea waves, rising sun, blue sky and local fishermen dragging nets were overwhelming.

The Ayurvedic massage I took at one of the Ayurveda heath centres at the beach truly rejuvenated me to the hilt. I felt as if all my fatigue which had accumulated over the years was slowly leaving my body and mind. In fact, I felt at peace with my own self. I refrained from talking during the massage session as I wanted to savour every moment. My massage session went on for an hour. Believe me you can never have enough of magical Ayurvedic massage.

Known as the Rasayana Chiitsa or rejuvenation therapy, my massage session was unhurried and carefully administered. The masseur did his job amazingly well and his skills were evident from the way with which he controlled the pressure to find and dissolve knots of tension in the neck, shoulders and back. After the massage with the herbal oil, an aromatic sandalwood pack was applied to my body. Then I was asked to rest for an hour before pampering myself with a hot steam bath. The entire experience was great.

Life At Warm & Inviting Goa Beaches

Inspired by bollywood movies and television serials, I made a plan to visit the alluring palm fringed Goa beaches. I was craving to enjoy the laid back lifestyle, bracing weather and the carnival in Goa. I arrived at my aunt’s place, where she always has a delicious plate of fresh crabs or king prawns deep fried in rava. She told me that Goa’s beaches reflect its colourful mosaic of history. This small but beautiful state was a Portuguese colony until 1962, and even today one can experience its Indo-Portuguese culture and architecture.

I started exploring this beach paradise from the Anjuna beach, which is quite famous for its flea market and rave parties. A number of tourists were relaxing on the white sandy beach listening to the waves of the Arabian Sea. I visited a popular beach shack, where I enjoyed awesome fish curry with rice. My next beach stop overs in Goa were Baga, Dona Paula, Colva, Aguada, Palolem and several other beaches that can make any beach holiday a memorable one.

Apart from the perfect blend of the sun, surf, sand, seafood and beach resorts, you can enjoy a number of exciting water sports in Goa. I could see people of all age groups enjoying snorkeling, water-skiing, wind surfing, jet skiing, parasailing, boat rides, catamaran sailing, deep sea fishing and underwater walks.

I also visited the colourful stalls located alongside the white coastline. These small shops offer a wide range of handicrafts and souvenirs like coconut products, cotton thread products, sea shells products, clay items, bamboo products, jewellery, wood artifacts, lampshades etc. In dinner, I relished authentic fish and prawns cooked in Feni. The trip was simply superb. If you choose from a wide range of Goa holiday packages, the exotic 100 km long coastline gives you an opportunity to discover new secluded beach sites every day during your Goa beach holiday.

Honeymoon In Kerala Backwaters: Romantic & Unforgettable

My friends laughed at me when I made a plan to visit the green paradise

Kerala Backwaters

Kerala‘ in July. They called it ‘off season’ because of monsoon. But believe me, Kerala is lovely anytime of the year. Because of some of the finest beaches, hill stations and backwaters in the world, it serves as a picture perfect honeymoon destination. After my research, I planned to go for a backwater trip in Kerala.

I started with the serene backwaters of Kumarakom, where I hired a houseboat with single bedroom. That luxuriously decorated houseboat (traditional Kettuvallom) took me to a journey of the enchanting beaches, dreamy hill stations, aromatic tea & spice plantations and dense greens. The backwaters were full of various other houseboats and I could see numerous couples enjoying their honeymoon vacations to start their blissful marital life. I could imagine that enjoying a luxury houseboat ride and sailing along the serene backwaters of Kerala along your companion would surely be an unforgettable experience.

During my three day trip on the modern and luxurious houseboat, the cook served me a huge variety of delectable freshly cooked dishes. I could see the couples floating along serene backwaters with no one to interfere in their privacy. While passing through lush green forests, I could feel the exotic fragrance of lilies and invigorating lotuses. Colourful water birds trailing the houseboat and flying in azure sky were another fascinating attraction. I spent many hours in night while lazing on the deck of my houseboat and enjoying the breathtaking view of sparkling stars.
I woke up to the chirping of birds and enjoyed the fascinating glimpses of beautiful countryside. My backwater trip offered me a wonderful opportunity to see the amazing Chinese Fishing Nets and Fort Cochin at Cochin, 140 year old Pier and Snake Boat Races at Alappuzha, Shri Padhmanabhaswamy Temple and the 19th century Napier Museum at Thiruvananthapuram, and few other exciting attractions of Kumarakom, Kovalam etc. Stretching up to 1500 km, these shimmering backwaters of Kerala are best mediums to explore the verdant green hill stations and secluded beaches while on a honeymoon trip.

Whether you are on a business trip, or a honeymoon vacation or even a routine holiday with family/friends, India is famous for making the most remarkable memories. Being a travel enthusiast, I have covered almost all the prominent tourist destinations in India. The divine and unpolluted beauty is capable enough to leave you mesmerized.

The states in north India – Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal – boast of being the most frequented hill stations in India. They draw countless honeymoon couples, nature lovers, religious minded people and adventure enthusiasts from all over the world. The actual beauty of these states lies in ancient temples (Vaishno Devi, Amarnath Cave etc.), snow clad peaks, enchanting valleys, cool rivers, exotic flora & fauna (Corbett National Park, Rajaji National Park), and the rarest of adventure sports (trekking, skiing, white water rafting, paragliding, mountaineering, snow boarding etc.).

Rajasthan is one such state, which is the favourite among all the

history buffs and wildlife lovers. It is undoubtedly the most colourful and vibrant state of India that showcases royal history of the Rajput kings through ancient forts & palaces, colourful festivities, the rarest of wildlife and interesting camel safaris. Places like Amer Fort, Jantar Mantar, Hawa Mahal, Kumbhalgarh Fort, Mehrangarh Fort, Fateh Garh Palace, Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary, Ranthambore Wildlife Sanctuary etc.  are major tourist destinations.

When we talk about historical places in India, the capital city Delhi and the wonder city Agra are considered the gems of Mughal dynasty. From the Red Fort, Old Fort, Humayun’s Tomb, and Qutub Munar of Delhi to the Fatehpur Sikri and Taj Mahal, the symbol of love in Agra – Mughals have created unbeatable monuments. The temples of Delhi (Lotus Temple, Akshardham Temple, ISKCON Temple) are important from religious as well as architectural point of view.

Apart from that, India has a long and beautiful coastline surrounded by the

Kerala is one such land that is full of divine greenery and is incomparable in its Ayurveda practices, temples (made in typical Dravidian style) and enchanting backwaters. Luxurious houseboats (traditional Kettuvalloms) here provide you with the unique opportunity of living on waters while exploring all the nearby islands.

Moreover, if you wish to explore the lifestyle of the interesting tribes of India, no other place can compete with the rural areas of the south and east India. Spacial tribal tours are organized to state like Orissa, Chhattisgarh, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh etc. This way, India has something to offer to all kinds of tourists. You can choose your desired tour from a wide range of themes and can make your holidays memorable for a lifetime.
